I'm Alan Rabinowitz, Director of Science and Exploration at the Wildlife Conservation Society. Thank you for being interested and concerned enough to read this appeal. I have spent more than 20 years of my life studying and conserving jaguars. We have learned a lot in that time and made some very important strides in setting up new protected areas for jaguars and educating people about their importance in the natural system. I am committed to spending the rest of my life to saving this magnificent animal, but I need your help.
My task today is not about saving a few wild jaguars or even about simply securing some important, beautiful areas where jaguars live. We will continue to do those things. But now my goal is to save jaguars throughout their entire range, from Mexico to Argentina, by creating and securing a natural corridor on public and private lands where jaguars can thrive well into the future. This is an ambitious goal, but it is doable. And I will do it, with your help and with the help of many other committed individuals.
I need support from every interested individual to achieve my objectives. With such a wide range of activities needed to save jaguars, funds are always our greatest limiting factor. Any contribution that can be made towards this effort is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for listening. I will make sure that jaguars continue not only to be a part of our present, but will always be a part of our future.
Alan
